Responsibilities

Ensure timely and successful placement of individuals seeking Developmental Disability services through NY Foundling, by proactively managing referrals and admissions while maintaining full compliance with OPWDD regulations. The role is essential to sustaining program capacity, improving access to services, and securing appropriate reimbursement.

 

Core Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for individuals and families seeking OPWDD services at NYF, ensuring timely responses and clear communication throughout the referral process.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with families, advocates, and Care Managers to ensure consistent engagement and transparency throughout the referral and admissions process.
  • Collect, review, and verify all required documentation to support admissions and enrollment in accordance with OPWDD standards. Guarantee that all paperwork is current, accurate, and complete before placement.
  • Confirm that individuals have active benefits prior to admission to secure proper reimbursement for services provided.
  • Accurately input and maintain applicant records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system to ensure accessible, up-to-date status tracking for internal teams and compliance audits.
  • Participate in all pre-admission and enrollment meetings to ensure all service readiness requirements are met and necessary documents are submitted to avoid delays in service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • Understands the OPWDD eligibility and service authorization requirements
  • Highly organized, detail oriented with excellent record management skills
  • 3 years+ experience in similar administrative supervisory role
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to deal tactfully and effectively with individuals, their families, funding sources, and representatives as well as with professionals both within and outside of the agency.
  • Must be computer literate with Word, Excel and Adobe and have experience with Evolv/EHR system.

Education Required

Bachelor’s Degree from a U.S. accredited educational institution or Credential Evaluation for a non-U.S. educational institution
