Tech Lead - Data Platform Team

About the Role 

iCapital is looking to hire a Tech Lead to manage the Data and Analytics team. This position will be responsible for overseeing the development and maintenance of our data platform infrastructure, ensuring that it is scalable, reliable, and meets the needs of our business. This role will work closely with other teams to ensure our data platform is integrated with other systems and applications, and that it supports our business goals. 

Responsibilities 

• Lead the development and maintenance of our data platform infrastructure including a Data Warehouse and a Market Data application. 
• Ensure our data platform is scalable, reliable, and meets the needs of our business. 
• Work closely with other teams to ensure our data platform is integrated with other systems and applications. 
• Lead the development of reusable components and frameworks for ingestion, cleansing, and data quality. 
• Design data models for optimal storage and retrieval that represent the product entities and meet business requirements. 
• Ensure our data platform is compliant with relevant regulations and policies. 
• Manage and mentor a team of Data Engineers. 
• Work with stakeholders to identify opportunities for data-driven decision-making and create a roadmap for the Data and Analytics team. 

 

Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics or other quantitative area or related field 
• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on building large-scale data platforms 
• Experience with open-source technologies and cloud solutions 
• Experience with OLAP and OLTP databases, and familiarity with various database designs 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills, and previous experience successfully leading a dynamic team 
• Passionate about programming and cutting-edge technologies 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field 
• Professional experience with Python and JVM based languages such as Scala, Java, and Kotlin 
• Experience building data-pipelines, data-lakes, and data warehouses 
• Good knowledge of financial markets and financial instruments 
• Experience with AWS solutions such as Lambda, S3, Kinesis, ElastiCache 
• Familiar with AWS and infrastructure-as-code (terraform or cloud formation) 
• Familiar with the use and restrictions of PII data for analysis, research, development, and testing 
• Full-time experience as a data engineer lead in the FinTech industry is a plus 

 

Benefits 

The base salary range for this role is $160,000 to $180,000.  iCapital offers a compensation package which includes salary, equity for all full-time employees, and an annual performance bonus.
