This role is based at our Tarrytown headquarters with a hybrid schedule. Travel to our Tarrytown, NY office is required minimum 2 days per week to collaborate with team members.
Your role:
- Demonstrated leadership supporting a small engineering team (3+ engineers across 2 locations)
- Support planning and tracking of tasks, schedules, and resource allocation for large-scale projects.
- Independently manage electrical project plans, including budgeting and resource allocation, for small-scale initiatives.
- Contribute to electrical architecture definition and concept development for large-scale projects; lead architecture and concept selection for smaller initiatives.
- Design, build and test prototypes in the lab, refining designs through hands-on experimentation.
- Participate in feasibility testing, system integration, and verification activities.
- Ensure compliance with design quality and regulatory standards.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams including embedded software, mechanical, and systems engineering.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and contribute to platform roadmapping discussions.
Your expertise:
Hands-on experience with a range of electronics technologies:
- Digital and analog circuit design
- Embedded subsystems
- Motion control systems
- Sensor and transducer technologies
- Power distribution subsystems
- Proven ability to design, develop, and troubleshoot microprocessor/controller-based embedded systems and mixed-signal circuits.
- Practical experience in design for EMC and safety, including familiarity with relevant testing standards.
- Proficiency with communication protocols such as CAN, Ethernet, RS-232, and RS485.
- Demonstrated success in electronics product development from concept through commercialization.
- Familiarity with CAE/CAD tools and electronics development workflows.
- Leadership skills in managing a small engineering team (3+ engineers across 2 locations).
- Effective communication and coordination skills, both verbal and written.
- Enthusiasm for hands-on lab work—building, testing, and refining prototypes.
Your skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in electronics design or product development.
- 2+ years of R&D project management experience.
- Industry experience in medical devices, automation, aerospace, automotive, robotics, or precision instruments.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to lead small technical efforts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Collaborative mindset and effective communication in team environments.
- Eagerness to grow into broader leadership roles under senior mentorship.
- Passion for innovation and delivering high-impact solutions.
