Job Summary

We are looking for a visionary and experienced Senior R&D Director to lead our research and innovation strategy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing and executing EU-funded research projects (Horizon Europe, IMI, etc.), proven experience in leading multidisciplinary teams, and a solid understanding of software development processes in health tech or related domains. This is a strategic leadership role that involves managing our R&D portfolio, coordinating with international partners, and ensuring that innovation initiatives align with regulatory frameworks and the company’s mission.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

·         Provide strategic leadership in the design, execution, and management of R&D initiatives

·         Lead the preparation and coordination of successful proposals for European Commission (EC)-funded projects

·         Manage international consortia and collaborate with key stakeholders including academic institutions, industrial partners, and regulatory bodies

·         Oversee project delivery, risk management, and budget execution in EC-funded programs

·         Drive innovation in product development in close collaboration with product and engineering teams

·         Guide the translation of research outcomes into real-world applications within Healthentia and other MedTech solutions

·         Stay informed on the latest trends in medical technologies, AI in healthcare, and regulatory updates including MDR and IVDR

·         Mentor and manage a cross-functional R&D team

Required Qualifications

·         At least 5 years of hands-on experience in EC-funded research projects (e.g., Horizon Europe, IMI)

·         Proven track record in leading R&D teams in health tech, medical devices, or life sciences

·         Strong understanding of software development principles, particularly in agile environments

·         MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences, or related fields

·         Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred/Bonus Skills

·         Experience with regulatory frameworks (MDR/IVDR) and working in quality-regulated environments

·         Familiarity with cloud architectures, data analytics, and AI-driven healthcare solutions
