Position Summary:
The Maintenance Planner Scheduler is responsible for the effective planning and scheduling of preventative maintenance and scheduling of work orders. This role requires the ability to plan and schedule maintenance activities, labor, material and contractors to provide the necessary maintenance resources to increase productivity, improve work efficiencies that assist in driving plant performance.
Responsibilities:
Utilize industry best practices to prioritize, plan and schedule all corrective, preventive, predictive, and project maintenance activity for assigned areas, in concert with production schedules and equipment maintenance needs. This includes planning and scheduling facility projects and planned shutdowns to meet objectives.
Publish track and estimate scheduling performance metrics statistics, labor requirements and maintenance performance data to minimize failures and improve asset reliability for planned and preventive maintenance to ensure efficient assignment of available labor. Assist in tracking & managing performance data to minimize failures and improve asset reliability
Escalates scheduling/delay issues to Management for work which is high priority and or compliance related to raise awareness and seek guidance.
Manage service contracts and equipment repairs with outside vendors to ensure maintenance work is planned, work permits if required and special tools required for the job are on hand and comply with environmental & safety requirements.
Prepares purchase order requests for repair and replacement parts, and contract services to ensure timely procurement and acquisition of parts and materials needed for planned work.
Maintain maintenance history records and assure CMMS compliance with Company policies, procedures and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s).
Assist in monitoring the maintenance equipment expense budget and collaborate with site Department Leaders and Managers to balance and achieve the safety, quality, reliability and production goals.
Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Associates degree in a technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certification:
None.
Experience:
Requires three to five years’ experience working in an automated, lean manufacturing, or continuous flow operation.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Competent knowledge of equipment and industrial processes.
Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and parts required.
Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams.
Understand basic financial concepts, such as estimating and budgeting
Good organizational and oral and written communication skills.
Well organized and detail oriented with ability to handle multiple activities simultaneously.
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
Must be flexible and responsive to the needs of the business.
Maintain a positive, professional, and customer-oriented attitude.
Ability to learn quickly and work effectively with little supervision when needed.
Ability to work effectively under extreme pressure to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and experience applying these skills to resolve technical problems. Critical thinking to analyze information and use logic to address equipment related issues
