As a Registered Nurse Level IV, you will leverage your clinical expertise and leadership skills to develop and implement comprehensive care plans for patients. Additionally, you will serve as a mentor to fellow team members, providing guidance and support to ensure the highest standards of care on the unit.
The 4100/4200 Unit at Unity Hospital is a moderately-acute telemetry unit that specializes in the care of patients with a wide range of medical conditions, with a particular focus on pulmonary care. We provide patient-centered care to a diverse population, offering unique opportunities for nurses and healthcare professionals to advance their clinical expertise in both telemetry and respiratory care. Key Features of the 4100/4200 Unit:
- Diverse and High-Acuity Patient Population:
- Telemetry & Acute Medical Conditions: Care for patients requiring continuous monitoring for a variety of acute medical conditions, with a strong emphasis on cardiac and respiratory monitoring.
- Pulmonary Care: Specializes in the care of ventilator patients and other high-acuity respiratory conditions. The unit works closely with the Pulmonology and Respiratory Therapy teams to manage patients with complex respiratory illnesses such as ARDS, COPD exacerbations, and pulmonary edema.
- Drug & Alcohol Withdrawal: Assessment using the CIWA protocol, stabilization, and transitioning patients to appropriate rehabilitation care when necessary.
- Complex Wound Care: Expertise in managing patients with wound vacs, pressure ulcers, and other complex wound care needs.
- Critical Infusions & Pain Management: Management of patients requiring Insulin drips, Cardizem drips, Heparin drips, and Patient-Controlled Analgesia (PCA) for pain relief.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
- The unit emphasizes interdisciplinary teamwork, ensuring collaboration between nurses, physicians, social workers, respiratory therapists, wound care experts, and other healthcare professionals. This ensures a holistic approach to patient care, especially for those with complex, multi-system conditions.
