THE ROLE

A safety and physical security resource responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security measures to protect personnel, property, and information assets. This role combines demonstrated proficiency in safety and physical security disciplines with solid understanding of physical security-security technologies and platforms.

The role also requires an advanced and broad knowledge of modern technology, with a solid understanding of related physical security-related disciplines and how they interoperate as a part of the security program.

Some characteristics include specific troubleshooting efforts of multiple physical security-related technologies and controls, solid capabilities in control design and monitoring efforts, advanced understanding of the field, its practices and controls, and its related technologies, and progressive knowledge of current technologies, threats, vulnerabilities and exposures.

The Lead Safety and Physical Security Specialist advances safety and physical security-related program and process, and/or oversee one or more complex projects, scope of work, or processes that drive results.

This role requires very minimal oversight and guidance.


WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Demonstrated proficiency of the field, its practices and controls, and its related technologies.  Stays abreast of current technologies, threats, vulnerabilities and exposures
  • Oversees routine departmental processes and procedures, such as;
  • vigilantly monitor physical security-related technologies and controls, reporting issues and concerns to management
  • issuing and use of building access cards,
  • timely processing of physical access requirements,
  • fingerprinting staff in compliance with S.E.C. rule 17f-2
  • awareness and training, and
  • safety and incident response
  • Responder to any report of a medical emergency or security issue and aid as necessary. Interact with building security to insure the prompt arrival, escort, and departure of EMS responders. Maintains record of incident responses. Works with global offices to ensure response procedures are in place
  • Owns relationship with lobby and property/building security to ensure requests for events, large groups and VIP's are fulfilled
  • Manages security coverage at various internal functions, meetings, etc. that require a security presence
  • Directs the organization and administration of evacuation drills. Works with all departments and offices regarding selection and training of floor wardens and any life safety position. Monitors all similar events globally and researches any issues
  • Maintains a network with other security organizations to keep abreast of best practices. Establish and maintain relationships within the company and building management to ensure efficiency of implementing company policies and adhering to local mandates
  • Leads the maintenance and placement of life/safety equipment on MFS floors ensuring compliance with local regulations. This process includes working with building personnel and vendors when necessary. Equipment includes but is not limited to Fire extinguishers, AED, fire doors and exits globally. Recommends replacements or upgrades
  • Supervises technical support of physical-security related technologies to ensure the ongoing efficient and reliable operations of related MFS security solutions and controls supporting business products and services
  • Put plans in place and executes them to automate manual tasks and seeks to improve efficiency wherever practicable and appropriate.  Assesses, recommends, and implements security process improvements
  • Supervise department activity with assessments, audits and vendor due diligence, as necessary
  • Works on projects of advanced complexity under minimal supervision. Stays abreast of current technologies, threats, vulnerabilities and exposures.
  • Receives broad goals and overall performance and project objectives from Management and assists in establishing and implementing the methods to attain them.
