Our Organization and Mission:

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is the state’s lead agency for environmental management and stewardship - protecting our air, water and land. The vision of DEP is to create strong community partnerships, safeguard Florida’s natural resources and enhance its ecosystem.

The Work You Will Do:

The individual in this role will serve as the Marketing Project Coordinator, reporting to the Marketing and Multimedia Services Project Manager. Their primary responsibility is to develop, coordinate, execute and track marketing tasks, initiatives and campaigns for the department. The Marketing and Multimedia Services Director, Marketing and Multimedia Services Project Manager and the Director of Communications will assign these responsibilities.

The primary focus of this position is to develop, implement, and execute strategic marketing plans for Florida State Parks, Office of Resilience and Coastal Protection and other water quality-related areas. Additional marketing support may be required for various program areas on a case-by-case basis.

To excel in this role, it is essential to have professional experience in marketing and communication efforts, strong team relationships, creativity, and the ability to develop effective strategies. The candidate should also be able to work independently with little supervision and work collaboratively with a diverse team and staff.

The job may require occasional travel for marketing/communications events and research campaigns.

The Difference You Will Make:

The Office of Marketing and Multimedia Services develops public outreach initiatives to educate the public on environmental issues, encourage environmental responsibility and highlight DEP initiatives that help protect Florida’s environment for current and future generations.

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) focuses on creating strong community partnerships, safeguarding Florida’s natural resources and enhancing its ecosystems. This includes overseeing and implementing dozens of regulatory, resource management and restoration programs. DEP also manages 175 state parks, trails and historic sites as well as 45 coastal and aquatic areas, which provide world-class recreational opportunities to Floridians and visitors.

How You Will Grow:

DEP encourages its leaders to constantly innovate and seek efficiencies. We believe in supporting and encouraging you as you take on important and often complex projects while offering you the opportunity to gain valuable experience quickly.

Where You Will Work:

Tallahassee, Florida’s Capital City, lined with rolling hills, oak trees, and canopied roads combines old world charm with a modern pace of life.
