Position Summary

The Director of Procurement is responsible for modeling the Compassus values of Compassion, Integrity, Excellence, Teamwork, and Innovation and for promoting the Compassus philosophy, using the 6 Pillars of Success as the foundation. S/he is responsible for upholding the Code of Ethical Conduct and for promoting positive working relationships within the company, among all departments, and all external stakeholders. The Director of Procurement is responsible for implementing company Procurement policies and procedures, managing supplier portfolios, and collaborating across departments to ensure optimal operational efficiency, compliance, and alignment with organizational goals. The Director of Procurement plays a key role in overseeing contract administration, financial analysis, and contract negotiations to reduce costs and mitigate risks.

Position Specific Responsibilities

• Manages the implementation of procurement policies, procedures and best practices across the organization.
• Oversee the supplier database, including rates, renewal dates, terms and conditions.
• Manages the process of sourcing suppliers negotiating terms and executing contracts with company-wide suppliers to ensure business goals are met.
• Monitors supplier performance against negotiated terms and conditions. Maintain a consistent process and timeline for evaluating contracts and renegotiations. Develop recommendations for contract terms based on ongoing performance reports.
• Analyzes company-wide supplier spend to identify and source opportunities for cost optimization.
• Partners with department leadership for roll out of new services and joint ventures and manages the timing of tasks.
• Establish contracting parameters, revise existing parameters (when necessary), and develop acceptable rates and specific contract provisions to meet needs of the organization.
• Communicate contract terms and updates with relevant stakeholders.
• Identify and recommend potential provider contracting strategies to reduce costs, limit financial risk, and ensure adequate provider service to organization.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Five (5) years of professional level, experience in procurement, contract management, or supply chain management, preferably in healthcare or a similar industry required.

Skills

• Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
• Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from leaders, team members, investors, and external parties. Strong written and verbal communications. Ability to speak intelligently and in a professional manner before others, demonstrate good public relations skills, assertiveness, flexibility and tact. Working knowledge of the contracting process, and a basic understanding of contract terminology and standard contract terms and conditions. Ability to deal tactfully and confidently with internal and external customers. Ability to understand basic contract provisions and determine acceptability consistent with organizational policies.
• Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to understand, read, write, and speak English. Articulates and embraces integrated healthcare at home philosophy.

Physical Demands and Work Environment: The demands of this role necessitate a team member to effectively perform essential functions. Regular standing, walking, and manual dexterity are fundamental, along with the ability to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds. Visual acuity requirements include close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
