About the role

Vector Atomic, a cutting-edge research company that develops quantum devices for various applications including GPS-free navigation, timing, geophysical exploration, and telecommunications, is seeking a Senior RF/Microwave Designer to join their talented team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing high-frequency electronic circuits and systems for quantum devices, ranging from microwave sources and amplifiers to signal processing and control systems. With a focus on the development of near-term products, Vector Atomic is dedicated to providing exquisite quantum systems that deliver form, fit, function, and affordability for the real world.


Responsibilities

  • Design and develop microwave circuits and systems for quantum devices.
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team of scientists and engineers to determine design requirements and specifications.
  • Develop and test RF/Microwave prototypes and ensure they meet design requirements.
  • Evaluate and diagnose issues with existing RF/Microwave systems and develop solutions.
  • Create and maintain design documentation, including schematics, BOMs, and evaluation reports.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry advancements in the RF/Microwave field and apply them to Vector Atomic's products and technologies.
  • Participate in customer discussions related to RF/Microwave product and technology development.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 6 years of experience designing and developing RF/Microwave systems for a high-tech industry.
  • US export control laws require “U.S. persons” including U.S. citizens (born or naturalized), lawful permanent residents, and certain categories of refugees, and asylees.
  • In-depth knowledge of microwave circuit design software such as Microwave Office and HFSS.
  • Experience with the design of microwave sources and amplifiers, signal processing, and control systems.
  • Proven ability to work with a cross-functional team consisting of scientists and engineers.
  • Experience in debugging and testing of complex microwave systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Pay Range
We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, performance bonus, benefits, and equity. The pay range for this position is $125,000 to $160,000 including annual bonus. It's atypical to be hired at the top end of this range for the role, as actual pay is based on several factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience level.
