Technical Accountant

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients to identify and resolve technical accounting issues related to complex transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity offerings, stock-based compensation, and revenue recognition
• Conduct research on various accounting topics and provide guidance to clients on how to implement relevant accounting standards
• Prepare technical accounting memos and whitepapers to summarize complex accounting issues in a clear and concise manner
• Stay up-to-date on accounting pronouncements and emerging trends in accounting and finance to provide clients with the most current and relevant guidance
• Work with clients to implement new accounting standards such as ASC 842: Leases
• Assist clients with the preparation of financial statements and footnotes in accordance with US GAAP or IFRS
• Support clients with ad hoc accounting projects as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
• Active CPA license preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of technical accounting experience in public accounting or industry
• Strong understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and SEC reporting requirements
• Experience with accounting for complex transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity offerings, and stock-based compensation
• Excellent research and writing skills, with the ability to communicate complex accounting issues in a clear and concise manner
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with clients and other members of our consulting team.
