Ergon also produces, markets, and/or distributes paving asphalt, asphalt emulsions, specialty coatings, sealants, and other road construction and maintenance products from over thirty owned or leased asphalt and emulsions plants across the United States.

The Senior Training Specialist supports Project Polaris specific stakeholder adoption of new technology and business processes. The individual assigned to this position will track training development through delivery within the Polaris training project management plan. This individual will also be responsible for loading and assigning training content and tracking training completion within the Learning Management System (LMS); and managing the training delivery schedule to include location scheduling and supporting logistics. This position is on-site in Flowood, MS.

Sr. Training Specialist Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in related field preferred (E.g., Business Administration or Learning & Development).
  • 5 years' experience with project management to include at minimum of 2 years' experience supporting major technology initiative. Experience with Project Management applications is desirable. (e.g, Microsoft Project, Primavera, or Smartsheet)
  • 3 years' experience tracking vendor deliverables and ensuring training products meet quality specifications.
  • 3 years' experience assigning and managing training through an LMS. 2 years' experience as a SuccessFactors LMS administrator.
  • 2 years' experience supporting Organizational Change Management (OCM) within a major technology project.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate complex technical concepts in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel to create, edit, and share information.
  • Ability to collaborate with others at all levels of the organization as well as vendors.
  • Customer service skills, responsive attitude.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.

Sr. Training Specialist Key Responsibilities:

  • Training Project Management
  • Develops training project plan across a multi-phased project to track and report vendor and employee progress in developing and delivering project specific training material.
  • Synchronizes Organizational Change Management deliverables and schedules with training plan.
  • Coordinates with Director of Training, project managers and team members to ensure training schedules are aligned with overall project workstreams, milestones and deliverables.
  • Collects and reports vendor cost data to enable leaders to keep project within budget constraints.
  • Sets up and manages routine courseware update schedules
  • Learning Management System Administration
  • Manages project team (vendor and employee) permissions within the LMS and learning development applications to ensure curriculum developers and trainers have access to upload, test, review and present material.
  • Manages individual assignment profiles of project specific training needs to include web-based, instructor lead, and blended training formats.
  • Provides troubleshooting assistance for users regarding logging in to the LMS and accessing courses.
  • Creates and maintains and provides needed information to keep project team informed of overall training completion progress.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves issues relating to system functionality and software systems.
  • Serves as point of escalation for support issues, which may include interaction with LMS vendor and other vendor support services.
  • Works with the instructional technologist and instructional designers to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to accessing the LMS and course content. Schedules venues, catering, and lodging as needed to support instructor led learning delivery.
  • Ensures training materials are available for company or third-party vendor trainers to delivery project related learning content. This may include job aids, instructor guides, vendors, etc.
