University Student Programs Intern

Argonne’s Institutional Partnerships has the goal of connecting today’s world-class research to tomorrow’s STEM problem solvers. This internship position combines responsibilities from both an operations standpoint and a student engagement standpoint, focusing on student recruiting, engagement, and internal operations. The intern will support the University Student Programs and Partnership team in recruiting strategies, the hiring business process, student engagement activities, and day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Student Operations
Assist to manage and improve the student hiring process.
Organize calendars and prepare event and marketing materials.
Collaborate on internal and external correspondence and communication.
Administrative duties as assigned.
Student Engagement
Assist with orientation for new student interns.
Assist with planning and execution of student networking and social events.
Support weekly student seminar series and small group meetings.
Organize student intern office hours and assist with creating engaging student activities around safety.
Help to create and manage weekly student communications.
Prepare materials for student recruitment and attend recruitment events.
Event Planning
Assist with the planning and execution of large-scale events and student programming.
Collaborate with the team to brainstorm ideas and contribute to event development.
Duties as assigned as it pertains to supporting the larger University Programs and Partnerships team with various projects and events.
Education and Experience Requirements
Currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies at an accredited institution.
Graduated from an accredited institution within the past 3 months; or
Actively enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited institution.
Must be 18 years or older at the time the appointment begins.
Must possess a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
If accepting an offer, must pass a screening drug test.
Must complete a satisfactory background check.
The entirety of the appointment must be conducted within the United States.
Interest in human resources, outreach, or higher education administration.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Good time management and prioritization abilities.
Willingness to contribute ideas, participate in brainstorms, and take initiative.
Strong desire to learn and seek out opportunities for growth.
Ability to communicate effectively and follow through on tasks.

HourlyThe expected hiring range for this position is $22.51-$29.27.Please note that the pay range information is a general guideline only. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as, but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, business considerations, internal equity, and external market pay for comparable jobs. Additionally, comprehensive benefits are part of the total rewards package.
