The opportunity:

The Process Improvement team is part of the global Close, Control and Reporting (“CCR”) function within Accounting & Finance; with its primary responsibility in ensuring timely and accurate recording of financial data. The specific remit of the team is to provide capacity to take on larger scale initiatives and projects aimed at implementing processes which will provide better outcomes (in terms of hours saved and improved data controls) with a combination of IT and accounting-based solutions.

The successful candidate will be an important part of the Process Improvement team and will be expected to quickly establish strong working relationships with colleagues both within the Operations and Close team and the wider Accounting and Finance organisation.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Review current state processes and propose viable solutions within the wider team to ensure timely delivery
  • Engage with and actively contribute to larger projects undertaken by the process improvement team
  • Utilise a variety of technology-based tools to deliver enhanced solutions
  • Work collaboratively with both the team and the wider base of Finance stakeholders to maximise the efficacy of the team and to enhance the customer experience as project work transitions to “business as usual”
  • Organising multiple workstreams concurrently; effectively monitor and support the progress of the wider team and collaborate closely with internal stakeholders

Our must haves:

·                   Minimum 3 years’ experience in accounting and finance (preferably in the insurance industry)

·                   Ability to assess, understand and infer solutions to business problems and subsequently deliver optimised solutions

·                   Excellent communication and organisational skills

·                   A high level of proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, ideally with some experience of using Visio, Planner and Project

·                   Able to work independently while also providing leadership to deliver team goals within tight timeframes

·                   Experience of process improvement or project work preferable
