POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Assistant Vice President will join the Hartford, CT based Global Atlantic Individual Market’s Legal team and will be involved in a variety of legal matters across the Global Atlantic life insurance companies. A successful candidate should have extensive experience in life insurance company products, securities law, state insurance law, distribution and operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Close involvement with senior business members on product development of complex fixed, fixed indexed annuity and variable annuity products
- Collaborate with senior business leaders and members of the legal department on operational initiatives
- Work with internal clients to analyze and resolve service and operational issues
- Providing legal support to Company departments, including sales, marketing, operations and compliance
- Build and maintain partnerships with internal stakeholders as well as contacts within the broader Legal & Compliance community across GAFG.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Juris Doctor degree (JD) and 8 years of experience in the field of law, including financial services/insurance
- Experience with federal securities laws, including FINRA Rules, and State Insurance Law
- Experience with SEC registration statement filings including N4 and S1 and state product filings
- Ability to make decisions, use independent judgment, establish priorities and work effectively on multiple initiatives concurrently
- Ability to work with a geographically dispersed team
- Advanced knowledge of annuity service, operations and regulatory requirements
- Capacity to consider, process and filter large amounts of complex information quickly and identify appropriate actions in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work across enterprise and present complex matters to senior business leaders
- Strong communication skills, work ethic and high level of personal integrity and accountability

Global Atlantic’s base salary range is determined through an analysis of similar positions in the external labor market. Base pay is just one component of Global Atlantic’s total compensation package for employees and at times we hire outside the boundaries of the salary range. Other rewards may include annual cash bonuses, long-term incentives (equity), generous benefits (including immediate vesting on employee contributions to a 401(k)), as well as a company match on your contributions), and sales incentives. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Compensation for our more senior positions have a larger component of short-term cash bonus and long-term incentives. The base salary range for this role is $92,000 to $176,000.
