Overview

Mount Sacred Heart Catholic School is seeking a passionate and skilled Dance Instructor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dance and a passion for educating and inspiring students aged 4 - 15. This role involves teaching a variety of dance styles while fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. The Dance Instructor will play a crucial role in the development of students' skills, confidence, and love for dance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs of students at different skill levels.
• Educate students on various dance techniques, styles, and choreography.
• Create a supportive atmosphere that encourages creativity and self-expression among students.
• Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their technique and performance.
• Organize and lead rehearsals for performances or showcases.
• Collaborate with other instructors to create interdisciplinary programs that may include elements of theater.
• Maintain a safe and clean studio environment for all participants.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding progress and any concerns.

Requirements

 

• Degree in Dance
• Ability to teach advanced levels of jazz, ballet and other dance styles is a plus.
• Proven experience and skill in dance instruction
• Strong knowledge of various dance styles (e.g., ballet, jazz, hip-hop) and teaching methodologies.
• Ability to educate students across different age groups, including preschoolers and teens.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse groups of people.
• A background in theater is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Passion for teaching and nurturing the growth of each student in their dance journey.
• Must be adaptable, patient, and enthusiastic about fostering a love for dance in others.
• Must pass archdiocesan Safe Environment Requirements and background screening.
