Job Description

The Director of Data and BOH Applications is a core member of the Parks Technology leadership team and will be responsible for driving a culture of operational excellence. This role will oversee the engineering teams supporting our Data and Back of House functions such as Operations, Technical Services, Procurement & Supply Chain, and Human Resources. This role will be focused on aligning our business processes with best-in-class enterprise technologies to optimize operational efficiency and maximize business results. The Director will work with engineering and operations teams to ensure technology services are available and performing optimally on a daily basis to support the upcoming growth of the business.

This role requires strong executive leadership, resource and program management skills, and the ability to influence at the executive level. The Director will be responsible for aligning business leaders with technology strategies and driving the delivery of projects impacting their stakeholders. In addition, the Director will collaborate with cross functional teams across Universal Parks & Resorts to deliver Enterprise and Digital technologies to USH.

Major Responsibilities

Operational Excellence

• Ensure 24 x 7 x 365 support of all key systems under their scope of responsibility including system availability, maintenance and monitoring
• Ensure USH is aligned with UPR Enterprise Operations strategies and standards
• Lead the establishment and continuous improvement of metrics, key performance indicators and service level agreements to optimize the performance of service delivery
• Ensure engineering teams are cross-trained on core platforms to expedite service delivery and maximize ROI
• Proactively engage and manage vendor partners to ensure alignment with our objectives and adherence to our policies and standards
• Proactively manage vendor and resource contracts to ensure annual renewals are processed on schedule
• Assess and modify IT processes as needed to achieve operational goals
• Establish support models for applications supported by UPR Teams to position local team for L1 support

Leadership & Collaboration

• Drive collaboration between engineering and support teams to ensure stakeholder needs are being met
• Partner with Enterprise and Digital technology teams to ensure core platforms and capabilities are delivered on time and on budget
• Work closely with key stakeholders to build strong collaborative relationships
• Collaborate with peers and leaders to drive a culture of inclusion and team member satisfaction
• Proactively develop team members to promote growth opportunities and job satisfaction
