Job DetailsJob Location: WILMINGTON OFFICE-- Services/Social Rec/Transitions/Clinical - Wilmington, NC 28403The Autism Society of North Carolina is seeking a dynamic Social Recreation Program Director. This Full-time, in-person position provides oversight, leadership, and strategic management of our camp program serving individuals with autism, including summer day camp and afterschool, and young adult programming during the school year at our Wilmington location.

Your Essential Responsibilities 


Provide oversight of operations and content for the program, ensuring that services are delivered efficiently and effectively, in accordance with best practices. 
Oversee development of program content and schedules that meet needs of children and young adults with autism. 
Delegate responsibilities within the professional and paraprofessional team. 
Oversee enrollment and attendance in alignment with established financial objectives and monitor program capacity to maintain a safe and high-quality experience. 
Evaluate program quality, financial performance, and effectiveness using data; implement improvements where needed. 
Coach and mentor staff to ensure strong leadership at all levels of the program. 
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. 
Collaborate with organizational leaders to develop target metrics for program participation, staffing ratios, and expense management. 


 



QualificationsThe Ideal Candidate:  


Has a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Recreation Therapy, Social Work, Psychology, or another related field.  
3 years of experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities 
Has Supervisory experience, strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. 
Ability to work flexible hours, and occasional weekends.  
Proficient in using MS Office, and experience using Excel.  
Experience with Innovations Waiver, Medicaid and State funded service provision preferred.
