Job Description
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) formulates partnerships with their designated departments to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects SVG business objectives. The HRBP serves as a consultant to people leaders on HR objectives and collaborates with them to develop creative solutions for the growth and retention of their employees. The HRBP is the main liaison between HR and people leaders to ensure HR programs are communicated and implemented effectively. The HRBP also has responsibility for engaging with employees to address HR needs and/or concerns.

The essential duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention. Collaborates with managers to develop action plans to increase employee engagement and retention, and facilitate a culture built on SVG’s core values of Accountability, Authenticity, and Innovation.
Executes on HR programs and initiatives such as: succession planning, pulse and engagement surveys, talent reviews, performance management, calibration and merit, etc.
Conducts regular meetings with respective department leaders.
Consults with people leaders, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations, and provides recommendations for resolution.
Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with legal as needed/required.
Provides performance management guidance to people leaders (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
Provides guidance on department reorganizations and workforce planning.
Collaborates very closely with all HR sub-teams (Talent Acquisition, Employee Experience, Learning and Development, Comp & Benefits) as well as Technology, Finance and Payroll to provide recommendations and guidance.
Participates in evaluation and monitoring of HR programs and policies to ensure success.
Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation to employees.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Additional information
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, business or related discipline.
A minimum of 5 years of progressive HR Generalist/HRBP experience.
Demonstrated experience with resolving employee relations issues, performance & talent management and leadership coaching.
Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
Knowledge of labor and employment laws and practices including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEOC, etc.
Working knowledge and/or experience with enterprise HRIS solutions and data analytics (experience with Workday is a plus).
Experience w/ Google Suite & Microsoft Office programs.
SPHR or SHRM-SCP preferred.
