CPH is a multi-disciplined Engineering and Architectural design firm that ranks in the nation’s Top 500 Design Firms by ENR Magazine.CPH is seeking a talented MEP Intern with either a focus in electrical or mechanical engineering to join our team in Sanford, FL!
The Mechanical/Electrical Intern will assist the MEP team by supporting with various tasks and projects to gain practical experience in Mechanical / Electrical engineering. This position provides practical, hands -on experience and is ideal for students or recent graduates who are eager to apply their academic knowledge to develop professional skills, and experience.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist with day-to-day operations and tasks within the department.
- Provide support for ongoing projects by completing assigned tasks and contributing to project goals.
- Participate in the design, analysis, and testing of electrical and mechanical components.
- Help in data collection, analysis, and preparation of reports or presentations.
- Work closely with MEP team, including meetings and collaborating on project tasks.
- Communicate effective with team members to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Seek guidance and feedback for mentor.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Comfortable working and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Basic understanding of electrical/ mechanical engineering principles.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings.
- Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) is a plus.
- Course work in power / energy (Electrical Engineering) or thermodynamics / fluid mechanics (Mechanical Engineering) is a plus.
- Excellent oral, written and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Detail oriented, quality conscious, reliable and self-motivated.
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited Engineering Program.
- Basic knowledge in industry standards and best practices.
- Prior internship or hands-on experience in an engineering setting is a plus.
