The Senior Director of Finance & Government Accounting at Blue Origin will be responsible for contractor business systems, government compliance, and rate submissions across the enterprise. They will lead all aspects of the underlying control structures and ensure that the required financial policies, procedures, and controls are operating optimally. This position will report to the Vice President, Controller for Blue Origin and manage direct reports in the areas of government compliance, rates, and internal audit. Additionally, this role will collaborate with partners across Blue Origin in Finance, Legal, Contracts, and Risk to develop cross-functional processes for the organization. Responsibilities

Own implementation and compliance of Contractor Business Systems

Oversee forward pricing rates, incurred cost submissions, and communications with the Administrative Contracting Office (ACO)

Improve advisory opportunities and deliver department value through in depth knowledge of business unit models

Identify, test, and develop effective and compliant policies, and identify training to address gaps across Finance

Partner to develop, maintain, and implement the Internal Audit Capability across GAAP reporting, financial controls, environmental and sustainability governance plans

Engage with the Controller, CEO, CFO, and SVPs to ensure coordination and teamwork on the requirements, expectations, and remedies of test plans for key controls

Develop constructive relationships with executive and business management by partnering on test plans to ensure controls and preprocesses operate in a lean and effective manner

Develop and follow up on remediation plans to eliminate repeat findings and efficiency of corrective actions
Required Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

15+ years of financial, business management, or accounting experience, including regulated controls or financial audit responsibility.

People leadership experience.

Strong understanding of government accounting practices, regulations, and business systems such as estimating, accounting, purchasing, Material Management and Accounting System (MMAS), and property.

Demonstrated success creating and maintaining approved government business systems

Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired Qualifications

Enterprise or business unit-level financial leadership experience in a matrixed environment

Prior experience as Controller and or P&L leadership

CPA / CMA

A mix of public, private, and start-up environment experience

Advanced expertise in audit at the enterprise or large business unit level

Deep understanding of Manufacturing Accounting and MRP-related processes
Compensation range for on site WA applicants is$206,461.50—$289,046.10 USD
