Job Description Summary

Maintenance Mechanic is a multi-trade technician that works with a team of mechanics to maintain campus buildings and ensure the proper maintenance of all aspects of our operations. The position must have a vocational degree in one of the plumbing or HVAC trade with multiple years of field experience. Position located at New Bolton Center in Kennett Sq., no public transportation available.

Job Description

 The position must have a vocational degree in one of the plumbing or HVAC trade with multiple years of field experience.  Duties include: Ability to perform repairs or replacements on various types of plumbing fixtures including lavatories, sinks, water closets, urinals, water coolers and their related valves, faucets and flushometers.  Locating, installing, connecting and testing of drain, vent, water and wastewater piping systems.  Able to install new plumbing fixtures, pipes of varying size and material as well as installations of lab equipment that requires gas, vacuum or water pipe.  Able to trouble shoot, diagnose and repair pumps, controls and sumps utilized in waste water or hvac equipment.  Demonstrated experience with various soldering techniques in the installation or repair of plumbing systems.  Proper use of hand and power tools utilized in the plumbing trade for drain cleanout and other confined space entry.  Successful candidates will have demonstrated the ability to install, maintain, repair, troubleshoot all equipment associated with plumbing to include but not limited to: overhead and underground piping, bathroom fixtures and facilities, manual, electronic and automatic valves, cooper, black, galvanized and plastic piping, drinking water and wastewater equipment, potable and heater water equipment, hot water heaters, ice machines and pumps.  Minimum five years of experience in the field including ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
