Job Description

 

Turner & Townsend is currently seeking a driven, focused and qualified Senior Project Manager - Infrastructure to support the Civil construction and commissioning of our client’s ground up project.  The position is a field-based role that is dedicated to delivering the Civil Construction trades of the project through day-to-day onsite construction. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Successful applicants will have experience with project management on manufacturing and industrial projects with a strong Civil component.
  • Act as specialist sounding board for project engineers with a Civil mindset
  • Lead communications with Contractors to determine the best value of construction methods to improve the implementation of design standards with local methods.
  • You will have a proven ability to deliver positive change, devise new approaches and contribute to innovation. You demonstrate advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, know when to act independently and when to seek support. 
  • You take responsibility for your personal performance, building confidence in your contribution to the team and the client. You create and execute plans effectively, identifying new ways to add value.
  • Attend GC meetings and make technical recommendations
  • You encourage collaboration and effective team working, appreciating contributions from the stakeholders you work with and focusing on a ‘one team’ approach.  
  • Provide VAVE ideas
  • You draw upon a range of communication styles which enable you to be effective across a variety of tasks and situations, building trusted relationships with our team and the client.
  • Review drawings released by GC for compliance to client expectation

Specifics activities include:

  • Managing the client team, including architects, engineers and supply chain to deliver a compliant project
  • Lead and provide status updates for Client’s Board Approval meetings
  • Maintain and update project’s KPI delivery reports
  • Managing the flow of project information between the project team through regular meetings and written communications
  • Managing the interface between all suppliers through monthly trackers and weekly reviews
  • Verifying that effective program governance, processes and systems are utilized
  • Ensuring application of best practice on all projects
  • Production of formal project status reports and other reports as required
  • Analyzing, tracking and effectively managing critical milestone activities to avoid schedule slip.
  • Monitoring the progress of multiple construction trades simultaneously to ensure that the approved design standards are being applied correctly
  • Providing technical support to owners, architects, general contractors and regional stakeholders
  • Responding to RFIs from the field
  • Providing expertise for cost control, value engineering, and constructability guidance where required
  • Manage the transfer of project specific knowledge is shared amongst the Client’s NAM program
  • Coordinate and collaborate with Project Leads to successfully create project specific requirements and deliverables that align with NAM Program requirements

Qualifications

 

  • 10 years’ experience of manufacturing / industrial PM experience
  • College graduate with bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields: business management, project management, construction management, architecture or civil engineering.
