You will also regularly pitch and write news features and editorials and advise the wider magazine on coverage of your beat. You may be needed to edit stories on occasion.</p><p></p><p><b><span>Role responsibilites &amp; tasks:</span></b></p><p></p><ul><li>Pitch, report and write a stream of news and features articles that appeal to Nature’s global audience of working scientists</li><li>Write clear, accurate and compelling prose; deliver copy to tight deadlines</li><li>Regularly find exclusive, original story ideas that appeal to Nature’s audience and drive traffic and engagement</li><li>Grasp scientific concepts quickly; understand the challenges and opportunities facing working scientists</li><li>Build a network of trusted sources leading to exclusive story ideas and tips</li><li>Maintain knowledge of developments in assigned beat and region; and broader trends in science, science policy, the research community and global affairs</li><li>Work collaboratively with a team of reporters and editors spread around the world</li><li> Edit news stories and cover for news editors when needed</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Experience, Skills &amp; Qualifications:</b></p><p></p><p><b><span>Essential </span></b></p><ul><li>Experience reporting and writing about scientific developments and research community issues</li><li>Deep knowledge in an array of science topics and fields</li><li>Understanding of journalistic values and best practice</li><li>Relevant university degree</li><li>Excellent English langauge skills</li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>Desirable</span></b></p><p>  </p><ul><li>Experience working in a modern newsroom</li><li>Experience writing about science in China, or in continental Europe</li><li>Experience writing about research integrity, scientific publishing or artificial intelligence</li><li>Other European languages or mandarin</li></ul><p></p><p>Based on your qualifications and work experience, we would be pleased to offer you a position as either a Reporter or a Senior Reporter.</p><p></p><p><u>Please apply sending your CV </u><u><span>and a cover letter explaining your interest in the post.</span></u></p><p></p><p><span>#LI-NP1</span></p><p>At Springer Nature, we value the diversity of our teams and work to build an inclusive culture, where people are treated fairly and can bring their differences to work and thrive.
