Job Overview:
As an General Shop Maintenance / Automotive Service Porter with Christian Brothers Automotive, you will be assisting Technicians and Service Advisors in locating and relocating vehicles so that they can keep our work flowing. You play a big part in keeping the shop clean, maintained and always moving.
The General Shop Maintenance / Automotive Service Porter is responsible for performing various duties as they relate to the operation of a Service Department. This position interacts daily with guests, Technicians, Service Managers, Service Associates, and more. Ultimately, a top-notch car porter can be entrusted with valuable property and building key relationships with the community.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Greet every guest that enters our facility with hospitality and respect
- Moving newly arrived vehicles, in progress as well as finished vehicles, around our parking lot in an organized manner
- Driving vehicles to the front after the transaction is complete. Stay tuned in when a customer is checking out and assist the front desk staff with having the guest car delivered to the front of the shop
- Accounting for and keeping inventory of all cars on the lot
- Ensuring the cleanliness of the parking lot, including picking up debris and trash
- Responsible for all facilities' housekeeping duties for the lobby, bathrooms, and shop. Including but not limited to; cleaning, straightening, sweeping, mopping, dusting, emptying wastebaskets, and organizing
- Responsible for occasionally test-driving vehicles
- Desire to learn automotive repair service terminology and processes
- Occasionally providing safe shuttle service for our valued guests in our branded vehicle
- Driving off-site to run errands. Including picking up / returning parts and cores and other miscellaneous errands as needed
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
