We are now looking for experienced Buyers to join Indirect Material Procurement.

Indirect Material managing suppliers providing products, services and investments needed to run our business, while Direct Material managing suppliers producing components and material for the manufacturing of our cars.

Currently opened positions will be part of Global Indirect Procurement and belong to one of our cross-functional and international teams in the areas and segments, covering:

•    Investments (Production Process Equipment, Construction, R&D testing)
•    Logistics (Ocean, Air, Train, Road, Warehouses)
•    Services (Corporate Services, HR services)

 

Together with our stakeholders, this teams represents the entire company and drives the strategy and tactics in supplying products and services needed to secure a successful transformation of our company. You will play an important role in securing that we get access to the best products and services on the market at the best cost levels.  

 

What you´ll do? 
•    Lead and facilitate cross-functional sourcing projects within the category, including all aspects from preparation and execution to analysis, negotiation, supplier selection, and contract management
•    Develop and execute category and supplier strategies
•    Cultivate and sustain commercial relationships with suppliers and stakeholders
•    Collaborate proactively with key business stakeholders to gain a comprehensive understanding of your product or service, its market, supply base, and potential innovations, in order to identify avenues for enhancing value for Volvo Cars, including improvements in cost, quality, and sustainability
•    Conduct market analysis, prioritize initiatives, and identify optimal negotiation strategies
•    Dare to challenge the status quo or established routes with stakeholders, suppliers, and individuals; work proactively to foster better mutual understanding and collaboratively pursue shared solutions
•    You will occasionally participate in international business travel

What you´ll bring? 

•    Knowledge and experience in one or several of the areas defined above and you have worked with supplier management and contractual topics. 
•    Ability drive fact-based discussions and have solid experience from negotiations. 
•    Experience in project management, creating plans and work in a structured way to achieve goals by setting priorities. 
•    Relevant university degree or equivalent work experience, with English as the primary language for written and spoken communication.
•    Experience in doing business in an international environment with global suppliers where a strong business acumen is a prerequisite as well as an ability to shift between short term focus and long-term ambitions.

 

We are looking for both senior procurement specialists as well as less experienced professionals, with the right business mindset, have a high ambition, drive and attitude. 

 

You lead your procurement area with confidence and create collaborative relations with your suppliers and internal stakeholders. Complex environments are something you thrive in, where you skillfully balance the interests of many while not losing focus on deliveries. You love creating from scratch and prefer to throw yourself in, rather than sit and wait for your turn.
