As a global leader in newborn screening, our solutions have tested over 700 million babies worldwide for life-threatening diseases.</p><p>We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Mass spectrometry R&amp;D scientist to join our team in Turku.</p><p></p><p><b><u>Job Description</u></b></p><p><b>Tasks</b></p><ul><li>Independently plans characterization studies, verification tests, test methods, product calibration methods, clinical tests, and stability studies.</li><li>Executes, documents, and reports on the sub-projects according to plans and procedures.</li><li>Makes changes to products using the change proposal system.</li><li>Leads maintenance and update projects, and if necessary, new product development projects.</li><li>Develops product development/research methods.</li><li>Supervises laboratory staff and participates in laboratory work.</li><li>Acts as a platform manager when needed.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Interaction</b></p><ul><li>Collaborates with different functions, other sites, and customers.</li><li>Trains other chemists.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Publications</b></p><ul><li>Writes abstracts and participates in writing scientific publications and patent investigations.</li><li>Conducts literature reviews.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><u>Role requirements</u></b></p><ul><li>Master’s Degree and/or PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or similar</li><li>Theoretical and practical knowledge needed in setting up MSMS assays. Expertise in designing reagents for assays on mass spectrometry, and instrumentation knowledge to allow efficient troubleshooting.</li><li>Strong background and practical working knowledge from GLP/GMP level Pharma, Biotech or Life Science industry is appreciated</li><li>Fluent reporting and communication skills in English.
