Job Title: Facilities Manager
Summary: The Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing all building related maintenance and to perform general repairs to keep our facility best in class. The person in this role will possess a strong work ethic, take initiative, be well organized and able to optimize the use of space and equipment while reducing operating costs. The goal is to ensure our property and facility is always clean and safe for all employees and guests.
Responsibilities: As the Facilities Manager you will:
- Perform general maintenance repairs to building and facility equipment, and systems that do not require a specialized technician.
- Manage vendors and contracts for maintenance, property repairs and grounds services (landscaping, snow removal, building repairs, etc.).
- Act as the point of contact and interface directly with property management company.
- Manage equipment maintenance contracts.
- Work cross functionally to ensure security and emergency preparedness procedures are implemented properly.
- Champion facilities related safety measures, and continually revise and provide guidance to stay current with industry standards.
- React quickly to manage and prevent urgent issues such as equipment breakdowns.
- Inspect equipment and systems to identify problems or issues, provide proactive measures.
- Develop and manage a preventative maintenance process to ensure equipment continues to operate properly and to meet compliance standards.
- Schedule and supervise maintenance repair work.
- Conducts and documents regular facilities inspections.
- Handle general accounting tasks for the department.
- Clean and assist with the upkeep of the facility according to company policy, procedures and quality metrics.
- Occasionally pick up or deliver materials and equipment as required.
- Develop, propose and implement clear plans of action for facility improvements.
- Manage facility improvement projects such as mechanical, electrical, equipment or minor construction additions.
- Maintain SDS industry safety requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
You’re a great fit for this position if this describes you;
- High school diploma with relevant experience in the field.
- 5 years of experience working in maintenance, while in manufacturing environment a plus.
- Experience troubleshooting industrial equipment such as CNC lasers, press brakes and vertical machining centers.
- Exceptional motor coordination and can easily use a variety of hand tools and power tools in a safe manner.
- Proficient in basic shop math calculations (adding, subtracting, dividing, multiplying, measuring and converting decimals).
- Excellent planning and time management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Physically able to climb ladders, bend, and crawl into awkward spaces.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for up to 10-12 hours a day when necessary.
- A valid driver license and a good driving record
- Forklift certified or willing to learn to drive a fork truck/lift.
- Able to think outside of the box and make appropriate and timely decisions to resolve issues.
- Familiar with general manufacturing concepts is a plus.
- Proven leadership capabilities.
- Proficient in current computer software: MS Applications Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Excellent written communications skills, including the use of proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar to produce error-free copy, particularly composing letters, reports and documents used for decision making.
