We are looking for an experienced marketing focused data scientist passionate about leveraging data to drive business growth to enable data-driven decision-making for Coursera’s marketing organization. In this role,  you will not only be responsible for your technical expertise and data analysis skills but also for acting as a thought partner and thought leader in driving business objectives through data-driven marketing efforts. You will work closely with our senior marketing stakeholders to provide strategic insights, collaborate on decision-making, and champion innovative approaches for marketing optimization. This role will partner closely with senior level marketing leaders  to shape overall marketing  strategy and to set robust data foundations, methodologies and measurement frameworks. Our ideal candidate has excellent analysis and statistical modeling skills, strong written and verbal communication, and an interest in expanding the reach and quality of online education.

Responsibilities:

  • Design experiments and analyze results to drive data-backed marketing decisions. Act as a thought leader in experimental design, campaign performance, customer segmentation, and other relevant metrics, providing guidance and insights for conducting robust experiments and deriving actionable recommendations. 
  • Develop and implement ROI measurement frameworks to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and identify areas for optimization, develop  a framework for channel optimization and media mix modeling to optimize marketing budget allocation across various advertising platforms, using advanced statistical modeling techniques and machine learning algorithms.
  • Revamp and implement attribution models to measure the impact of different marketing channels on customer acquisition and conversion. Lead discussions and provide thought leadership in identifying key touch-points and measuring marketing effectiveness.
  • Act as a thought partner to senior marketing stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations for achieving business objectives, informing and driving data science roadmap and priorities within marketing data science, and influencing marketing strategy.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to improve data collection processes and ensure accurate instrumentation of marketing data.
  • Creatively problem-solve and design high powered experiments to test business hypotheses, apply rigorous statistics, causal analysis and experimentation techniques, and work with engineering/product to deploy and drive real impact.
