JOB DESCRIPTION
TOTAL COMPENSATION: Salary based on experience and education level per PCBOE salary schedule plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation. TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 2026-2027 School Year, 200 Day Contract for the 2026-2027 and each year thereafter
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently hold or previously held classification of Aide, or passage of state competency exam for Aide
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
High School Graduate or GED.
Physically fit to perform duties.
Pass criminal background check.
Before beginning any job assignment, applicant must be adult and child CPR/AED/First Aid certified or be willing to become certified
Must complete transportation training requirements
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Principal
WORK HOURS: NFES 7:00 a.m. Board Bus, ride to PMCHS. Arrive at PCMHS 7:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m.-11:00 (Split), 11:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. (Lunch), 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. (Principal may adjust these times based on school needs).
The Aide assigned to a school bus assist with the supervision of student passenger on the bus, including securing student passenger in various types of restraint and is required to provide specialized care training as needed. Hired employees for this position may catch the bus at the bus garage, board property along the route, or a mutually agreed upon location. Once the route is complete the individual will be an aide in a classroom(s). The principal will develop the schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must successfully pass state competency test for aide prior to employment and will work toward an autism mentor and CPI certification within 2 years of employment; hold or qualify for aide certification according to WV Code.
- Applicants who have unsatisfactory evaluations in the past year will not be considered eligible for consideration; applicants who demonstrate unsatisfactory interview performance are not eligible for consideration; and, applicants who receive unfavorable reference recommendations will not be eligible for consideration additional, minimum requirements for applicants not currently employed: applicants who have been dismissed or who have had their contracts non-renewed for cause by another school district are not eligible for consideration; the ability to perform the job duties and responsibilities of the position as contained in the job description, with or without reasonable accommodations.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
- Provide students with individualized attention
- Participate and become certified in Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI)
- Set up and operate equipment
- Assist student to and from the bus
- Remain aware and alert of medication administered to student
- Delegated, trained, and required to administer medication to a student as needed
- Assist in lifting student
- Secure students in car seats, seat belts, harnesses, etc., while in transport
- Secure wheelchairs safely for transport
- Practice good safety habits and have knowledge of basic first aid
- Help maintain an up-to-date inventory
- Possess strong oral and written communication skills
- Maintain familiarity with personn
