POSITION SUMMARY
The Le Moyne Way is a whole-department approach to whole-person development that is rooted in the 500 year-old tradition of Catholic Jesuit values.
The Le Moyne Way Community Engagement Specialist is responsible for leading the administration of the integrated program called The Le Moyne Way which will play a pivotal role in enhancing the spiritual engagement of Le Moyne students and the surrounding community including the Salt Springs Neighborhood by offering programs such as spiritual readings and reflections, guest speakers, service learning opportunities, retreats, and summer camps for neighborhood youth.
The position will report to the Vice President for Mission Integration. This position will work with the Le Moyne Way Program Operations Specialist to coordinate with a variety of offices on campus including: Athletics; Campus Ministry; Social Impact Programs; and Student Development.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Job duties specific to this position:
In collaboration with the Le Moyne Way Program Operations Specialist and colleagues within Campus Ministry, Athletics, Student Development, and Social Impact programs create and coordinate programs that will engage students, athletes, and neighborhood youth in mental wellness and spirituality.
Serves on the Campus Ministry team when programs are anchored in Campus Ministry and on the Athletics management team when programs are related to Inside the L. Will also be a part of the Social Impact Program Team to support neighborhood youth programs.
Serve as the leader to coordinate a variety of programs throughout the year such as producing podcasts, organizing discussion groups and guest speakers, organizing several service learning programs on campus such as “Rise Against Hunger”, and work with Athletics to provide a summer camp for the disadvantaged youth in the neighborhood.
Create and leverage social media tools to reach students virtually as well as in-person. Such tools as pod casts, TikTok posts, and other media can be an effective way of promoting the Le Moyne Way.
Collaboratively manage the student workers within the program with the Le Moyne Way Program Operations Specialist
Work closely with the Athletic Chaplain and the VP for Intercollegiate Athletics to coordinate Inside the L programs.
Promotes a culture of connectivity, belonging, and spirituality among students to reduce feelings of isolation and disconnection. Reaching out to commuter students will also be an important goal to ensure they are included.
Serve as the primary point of contact with all on and off campus organizations
