We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineering student to join our Tactical Radars & Effectors department in McKinney, Texas.  The Tactical Radars and Effectors department supports the hardware development, production, and deployment of multiple defense products for Tactical Radars, Effectors, Command and Control Systems, and Naval Systems products.  The products support domestic US Government customers at multiple Forces and Agencies including the Air Force, Navy, Army, Missile Defense Agency, and the US Coast Guard.  The product lines also support multiple international customers through both US Government Foreign Military Sales and Direct Commercial Sales.

This position is an Onsite role, where you will be working primarily in McKinney, Texas during Summer 2026.

What You Will Do

  • Application of mechanical engineering fundamentals to challenging design problems.
  • Creation or updates of technical documentation packages.
  • Complete drawing designs as required, operates engineering software and equipment, and confers with stakeholders regarding engineering projects.
  • Collaboration with hardware engineering teams.
  • Mechanical engineering design utilizing CAD software.
  • Support to manufacturing and production.
  • Application of Raytheon hardware design processes and tools.

Qualifications You Must Have  

  • This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor’s (or higher) degree program and will be at minimum, entering their Sophomore year by the start of summer 2026
  • Must be pursuing as Bachelors or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with CREO or comparable CAD software.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in working in teams.
  • Results-oriented with good problem-solving skills.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
