Description of Work
This position is located at Dan River Prison Work Farm, Caswell, NC. Dan River Prison Work Farm is a minimum-custody prison housing male offender. The largest offender population consists of minimum custody offenders.Reporting to the Programs Supervisor I, employees in this class provide programs for the rehabilitation of offenders in the prison system. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Job Duties Included:
- Assist with teaching 40 hours of Domestic Violence from approved curriculum.
- Screen and assign offenders from all minimum custody facilities across the state.
- Plan and facilitate graduation for offenders after course completion.
- Maintain case manager responsibilities
- Developing case plans, answering and following up on offender questions and problems, and making recommendations to the classification committee.
- Assist in major dynamic programs or coordinating major or specialized programs for the rehabilitation of offenders such as offender work assignments, work release, education, or recreation as well as transition planning and coordinating.
- Plan and coordinate transition (re-entry) prior to parole or release into the community.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
Salary Range: $37,377.00 - $65,408.00

The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:
Documented knowledge of case management practices, or supportive counseling techniques and/or interviewing techniques for intake assessments.

About The Division of Institutions:
The Division of Institutions manages the daily operations of all state-operated prison facilities across North Carolina. Facilities are categorized by custody levels (minimum, medium, close) and house individuals serving sentences for felony convictions. The division provides safety, security, and rehabilitative services through trained custody staff, program facilitators, and administrative personnel.
