About this opportunity:

Join Cenovus Energy Inc. as a Manager, Environmental at our Lima Refinery! You'll be an integral part of our Site Leadership Team, driving outstanding environmental standards and compliance programs. Lead a dedicated team of engineers, environmental scientists, and regulatory compliance professionals to uphold flawless environmental practices.

What you’ll do:

• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary environmental team, fostering professional development and departmental effectiveness.

• Oversee environmental compliance programs across air, water, waste, wetlands, and remediation to meet regulatory and company standards.

• Manage departmental budgets (OPEX/CAPEX) and ensure alignment with operational and environmental goals.

• Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, legal counsel, and internal stakeholders regarding environmental issues and enforcement actions.

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve the refinery’s Environmental Management Systems and compliance strategies.

• Review and influence proposed environmental regulations, forecasting operational impacts and advising senior leadership on cost-effective compliance solutions.

• Support environmental aspects of capital projects, including permitting and integration with engineering and project teams.

• Ensure accurate reporting, recordkeeping, and timely implementation of corrective actions to maintain or improve compliance.

Who you are:

• Legally authorized to work in the US

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Chemistry, or related Science degree or equivalent experience

• 10+ years of environmental, health, and safety experience

• 5+ years of direct enforcement experience with regulators

• Proven leadership and management skills

• Experience with Federal and State environmental regulations
