Profile Summary:

This position contributes to Benefitfocus' Product Team success by assuming responsibility for the strategic value, capabilities, and performance of the product portfolio in support of the Health Plan business. To be successful, the Program Manager Strategic Portfolio Delivery needs to be an expert in managing complex and ambiguous technical initiatives while managing cross functional expectations - including but not limited to technology product roadmaps, feature sets, problem areas, timelines, and change requests. To ensure capabilities aligns to Benefitfocus Leadership Team and Health Plan business strategic priorities, incumbent should establish an effective structure to monitor, report and adapt execution as needed to mitigate risks and ensure delivery of value to customers and the market.

Profile Description:

  • Develop and implement strategic roadmap delivery plans for multiple projects to achieve organizational goals and ensure value realization of product investments.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, Operations, Sales and, periodically, customers, to ensure alignment and collaboration across projects.

  • Manage resources, budgets, and timelines across various projects in the Health Plan product portfolio to ensure efficient use of assets.

  • Identify and mitigate risks across the program to ensure successful project delivery.

  • Maintain regular communication with stakeholders – internal and external – and Benefitfocus leadership to ensure project alignment and address any concerns.

  • Track and report on the performance of projects within the program, ensuring they meet established objectives.

  • Conduct program-level analysis to identify opportunities for project alignment and improvement.

  • Develop and manage program milestones and deliverables, ensuring timely completion.

  • Assist in the development and execution of quarterly and annual planning processes to ensure strategic alignment and goal achievement based on capacity and resources available. Promote Agile best practices and help facilitate program increment planning processes.

  • Prioritize project deliverables and program objectives to ensure the most critical tasks are completed first.

  • Establish reporting and tracking for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), objectives and key results for the product team and ensure alignment with senior leadership.

  • Creates product update communications for executive review and decision making.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver large cross functional business process and systems transformations 

  • Demonstrated experience in Agile development methodologies, including Program Increment (PI) planning techniques, to effectively manage and deliver projects.

  • Natural leader, creative thinking, and problem-solving skills

  • Drive to get things done and a desire to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment with varied responsibilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • High attention to detail and the ability to effectively lead multiple projects at a time

  • Comfortable with change and ability to adapt accordingly.
