GDIT is seeking a Technical Program Manager to support the National Institute of Health (NIH) National Institutes of Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) program. In this role you will manage a large and complex program with multiple technical teams spanning a wide range of IT support and technologies.
Work Visa sponsorship will not be provided for this role.
HOW A TECHNICAL PROGRAM MANAGER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
- Provide leadership in overseeing comprehensive technology and service delivery
- Provide strategic planning, operational planning, and service portfolio development and implementation to service delivery technical managers
- Provide oversight of all technical and operational aspects of the program
- Develop and lead cross-functional teams, including promoting team cohesion and collaboration
- Inject enterprise innovation through strategic thinking around technology and operations
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships (trusted advisor) with transparent communications
- Ensure program performance to meet productivity, quality, and client satisfaction goals and objectives
- Serve as a people manager in coaching, mentoring, motivating, and supervising direct reports
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Required Education: BS/BA (or equivalent)
Required Experience: Minimum of 10 years of related experience
Required Technical Skills:
- Minimum of eight years of experience managing large IT Operations and Maintenance contracts
- Proficiency in multiple technical disciplines, including DevOps, DevSecOps, cloud services, IT infrastructure, cyber security, networking, data management, storage, and XaaS
- Experience managing programmatic risks for large service delivery and infrastructure projects including, dependencies, and issues to ensure timely resolution
- Experience managing technical projects, using Agile, Scrum, or Kanban methodologies
- Experience working in a metrics-driven environment (e.g., SLA, OLA)
- Experience developing and delivering complex IT services across a diverse portfolio (e.g., cybersecurity, networking, cloud, engineering, scientific computing)
- Experience developing solutions in a regulated federal environment (e.g., FISMA, FedRamp) and compliance requirements (e.g., EPLC)
Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain a NIH Public Trust
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate complex technical topics and concepts to executive leadership and technical staff
- Knowledge of IT best practices and standards
Preferred Skills:
- Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, Lean IT, PMP, Scrum Master)
Location: Hybrid; must be able to attend weekly meetings at the client site in Rockville, MD and as required to meet contract obligations.

The likely salary range for this position is $162,562 - $219,938. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.Scheduled Weekly Hours:
