About the Position

Accelerate Change is seeking a seasoned and proactive technical accounting expert to own and lead the full cycle of accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), general ledger (GL), and financial processes, with a special focus on GAAP compliance and navigating complex intercompany transactions. As our finance department transitions to new systems, your exceptional resilience, strategic thinking, and meticulous attention to detail will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and optimizing new structures and processes across our diverse financial network. This is a unique opportunity to shape and elevate our financial operations.

Here’s what you could expect to do as Senior Accounting Manager (key responsibilities):

Core Accounting and Financial Management:

  • Accounting Operations: Lead and strategically manage the full cycle of accounts receivable, including optimizing payment processing, invoice generation, and outstanding receivables for both the Central Team and our expansive partner network, while overseeing all cash receipts, general ledger operations, and month and fiscal year-end close processes

  • Reconciliations: With support of the Finance Team, own the account reconciliations, up to and including general ledger, bank, and credit card statement reconciliation

  • Financial Monitoring: Monitor bank accounts and all incoming and outgoing transactions

  • Donations and Earned Revenue: Ensure donations, contributions, sales, and advertising income are properly recorded and allocated across the organization

  • Grant Support: Provide our Development Team support with restricted and unrestricted grant tracking, expense allocation, accounting and reporting, and serve as the main point of contact for cross-team collaboration

Systems, Processes, and Documentation:

  • Accounting System Management: Support and own transactions for the Central Team and partner network in NetSuite

  • Documentation and Recordkeeping: Establish and maintain electronic fiscal files and records to document transactions, focusing on general ledger (prepaid, fixed asset, accrual) schedules and payroll processes
