Position summary:
The Physical Security Specialist will conduct security assessments and will audit and administer training at all neighborhood branches and corporate office. Travel is required to visit the branches.
We have a flexible work schedule where employees can work from home one day a week.
Essential functions and responsibilities
- Audits surveillance cameras, digital video recorders, and camera angles to ensure all physical security measures are effective and enforced properly.
- Assesses all branch locations and provides a summary for each detailing the branch’s location, physical description, surroundings, and nearby businesses.
- Maintains a current log of all locations and makes updates as required.
- Trains branch staff on alarm procedures and motion detectors.
- Visit neighborhood branches to train associates on physical security procedures and educates branch personnel on how and when it is required to enforce policies such as, post robbery procedures, proper use of physical security equipment, etc.
- Participate in meetings related to branch construction to ensure security requirements are met, including the strategic placement of cameras and scheduling installation of the security systems.
- Responsible for keeping MCB departments informed of new technological advances or discoveries in the field.
- Controlling access to door entrances and exits and making facility keys available to all appropriate personnel.
- May provide new and replacement badges.
- Act as a liaison between Physical Security's contract vendors and MCB.
- Provides and maintains authorized alarm users with alarm codes.
- Responds to requests relating to physical security issues when necessary.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Associate’s degree required
- 4-6 Years of related experience required
- Physical security experience within financial institutions required
- Experience in preparing a training curriculum and the capability of executing the program required
- Communication Skills: Ability to speak, read and write in the English language; Spanish (or other languages) helpful. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos; write simple correspondence; and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
