We are currently seeing a Sr. Electrical Distribution Systems Engineer. This position requires an experienced professional with a responsibility of designing, developing, and optimizing the electrical distribution systems that power our innovative electric vehicles. You will work on cutting-edge technology and collaborate with a team of talented engineers to drive the success of our electrification projects. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.
The Role: •Design and Develop Electrical Distribution Systems: Lead the design and development of electrical distribution systems for electric vehicles, ensuring safety, reliability, and efficiency.•Power Distribution and Grounding Strategy: Implement Power Distribution and Grounding strategies to provide optimized utilization of 12V fuses, Body in White ground locations, and vehicle wiring harnesses for circuit protection, signal integrity, and EMC robustness.•Component Selection and Integration: Select, evaluate, and integrate components such as low-voltage connectors, wiring harnesses, fuses, and relays.•System Optimization: Optimize the electrical distribution system for performance, weight reduction, and cost efficiency while maintaining high safety standards.•Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including power electronics engineers, low voltage electronics engineers, and vehicle integration teams, to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems within the vehicle architecture.•Testing and Validation: Plan and conduct rigorous testing and validation processes to ensure the electrical distribution systems meet or exceed industry standards and regulatory requirements.•Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Identify and resolve complex technical issues related to electrical distribution systems, both in development and post-production phases.•Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation, including schematics, diagrams, and technical reports, to support the manufacturing and maintenance of electrical systems.•Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to improve existing systems and processes.•Project Management: Take ownership of projects, set and meet deadlines, and manage resources effectively to ensure project success.
Qualifications:•Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.•Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical system design and development in the automotive or electric vehicle industry.•Proven expertise in automotive electronics, including power circuits, digital and analog signals, and communication protocols.•Proficiency with CAD software for electrical design, such as Vector PREEvision, Mentor Capital, Zuken E3, or similar tools.•Understanding of relevant industry standards and regulations.•Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.•Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Education Requirements: •Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
