Position Summary: Oversee and supervise the Tutors and Senior Tutors of the Math Resource Center (MRC).
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Math, Math Education, or closely related field.
- 3+ three years of experience tutoring or teaching.
- First-level leadership.
- Coordinates and leads daily team activities.
- May spend a portion of time performing the work of those they supervise.
- Assists with management decisions and activities.
- Working knowledge of team function within the organization.

Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Hire, onboard, train, evaluate, and supervise Johnson County Community College (JCCC) MRC tutors through regular group and individual training sessions, observations, and one-on-one meetings. Review payroll and approve time. Provide a positive presence in the MRC and handle staff issues and concerns in a confidential manner and in line with MRC guidelines/rules and college policies. Maintain open and honest lines of communication with staff.
- Create schedules, maintain coverage requests, design appropriate tutoring assignments based on student needs and staff strengths, and hire based on student demand and center needs.
- Represent the MRC and larger Academic Resource Center (ARC) at campus-wide events (i.e., Cav Kick-Off, population-specific orientations, and resource fairs), and in collaboration with campus and ARC partners, plan events and support development opportunities for faculty and staff across campus on relevant topics.
- Tutor students at all levels and modalities when needed based on staff availability.
- Develop content and support the creation of content for student-facing support like workshops, class visits, online resources, and tutor training (math content and pedagogy).
- Support the long-term growth of MRC by identifying ongoing and one-time issues and working with the Director to develop solutions, identifying needed schedule or program adjustments based on student and campus needs, assisting with annual and comprehensive program reviews. and supporting special projects and new initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records, adhering to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and keeping appropriate staff updated on student progress and problems.
- Lead the daily operations of the MRC, including managing student concerns, tutoring students or filling in at the desk as needed, and troubleshooting technical problems (including LMS, software, and hardware problems). Grant deviations from normal procedures when the situation calls for it.
