Job Overview
The Financial Controller has a heavy focus on Cost Accounting and is responsible for securing accurate, compliant, and transparent accounting and reporting for the U.S. Acute Care Therapies (ACT) business. The position partners with Operational leaders, and will focus strongly on financial statement accuracy, which requires an in-depth knowledge in financial accounting. The position will partner closely on compliance, with internal controls procedures, documents, and team, in order to build quality into our everyday accounting processes.
Finally, the Financial Controller will work in select financial transactions, which contribute to overall financial statements and will review the consolidated results with management to secure transparency in our accounting and reporting. Additionally, the position contributes to key projects, maintains essential financial databases, and conducts detailed Ad Hoc analyses.
This is a hybrid role with flexibility to work from home around 3 days days a week.
Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties
- Responsible for Financial reporting for US Acute Care Therapies (ACT) Business.
- Required to build close partnerships and support with the ACT Operational Leaders in the US.
- Ensure all activities are compliant with internal control policies and suggest additional controls when needed
- External and internal audit support – subject matter expert and point of contact between auditors and other department
- Prepares journal entries and assists in month end close as needed to ensure proper accounting at the functional and departmental level.
- Conduct detailed cost accounting transactions with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and integrity in all financial records.
- Apply expertise in cost accounting principles within a manufacturing environment.
- Ensure timely completion of month-end closing activities such as overhead, work in process, variance, and order settlement calculations.
- Actively participates in monthly balance sheet reviews
- Accrual and deferral calculation in collaboration with business control
- Cash flow Analysis.
- Partners with Getinge’s Shared Service Operations to provide business knowledge and solve accounting issues, acting as a subject matter expert.
- Master data, cost center structure, Chart of accounts management, ERP Optimization.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports by gathering information related to current performance (Net Sales, Order Intake, Open Orders, Cost accounts, Inventory accounting, production order variances, and Work in Progress (WIP) review.
- Generate reports to support Monthly Financial Reviews including inventory schedules and support templates.
- Manage all cost accounting functions including pricing updates, Bill of Materials (BOM) maintenance, and other related tasks.
- Lead the annual setting and analysis of standard costs and variances/reserves, leveraging manufacturing insights to inform cost-related decisions.
- Acts as Finance Project Manager and executes on improvement areas as designated by management
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting and/or combination of education and related experience is required.
- Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting is a plus.
- A minimum 6 years of related work experience in Finance and Accounting, with proven knowledge and experience in Cost Accounting.
- Proficiency in SAP, particularly in FI, Controlling, and Product Costing modules.
- Knowledge of Power BI or similar Business Intelligence tools is advantageous.
- Proven experience working with internal controls required.

- Strong background in accounting and accounting systems.
- Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing environment, with a keen understanding of manufacturing processes and their financial implications.
- Demonstrated ability to think critically and analytically, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
