Under the supervision of the Regional Supervisor, will be responsible for maintaining, building and repairing lakes, spillways, dikes, levies, roads, ponds and any other construction work deemed to be necessary on Department lakes and public lands. Service, repair and maintain equipment to keep it in maximum operating condition. May assist hatcheries with heavy equipment dirt work and welding repair and fabrication.

JOB DUTIES:
Responsible for maintaining, building and repairing lakes, spillways, dikes, roads, ponds and any other construction work necessary on Department lakes and access areas, fish hatcheries and public lands.
Responsible for operation of bulldozers, road grader, scraper, track hoe, backhoe or other heavy equipment needed to maintain lakes, roads, clear fire breaks, open ditches, clear timber, construct dikes, levees, ponds, access roads and fire breaks.
Must be able to shoot and work grade stakes.
Responsible for service, repair and maintenance on all equipment to keep in maximum operating condition including, fueling, cleaning, minor tune-ups, oil and filter changes, lubrication and minor repairs.
Assist in general custodial upkeep and maintenance on Department properties as assigned, including mowing, brush removal and disposal, trash and litter removal and disposal, fence repairs, bathroom/vault toilet attention, shop and yard upkeep and sign installation and repair.
Assist hatcheries with dirt work repairs, water line installation and maintenance, welding fabrication and repairs, road maintenance and renovation projects as assigned.
Load, transport and unload heavy equipment from one job site to another as assigned.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
Must have the ability to:
Operate boats, motor vehicles, lawn mowers, tractors, and ATVs with various attachments.
Operate and use firearms, cutting torch, and welding equipment.
Lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds for a distance of 100 yards.
Ability to push / pull a minimum of 50 pounds to hook up trailers, load boats, and various other equipment.
Walk and jog over rough terrain for extended periods of time.
Must be able to swim.
Work alone in remote areas.
