The Store Supervisor supports the Store Manager and Assistant Manager in all store operations, including financial performance, personnel management, cash register operations, visual merchandising, and loss prevention. This role is also responsible for additional tasks, such as training staff and ensuring that store expectations are met.
All Store Supervisors will be cross-trained in the main areas: Processing, Cashiering, Sales Floor, and Visual Merchandising.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Store Operations:

Manage collections and ensure proper processing and separation of incoming donations.

Maximize used goods processing using the Kaizen system, ensuring that sorting, preparation, and pricing of items meet or exceed production goals.

Perform weekly merchandise rotation to maximize sales and meet production targets.

Open and close the store, including making bank deposits, tallying cash registers, and conducting regular cash register readings.

Generate and maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly store reports, including employee schedules.

Ensure that stockroom production of textiles and hard goods meets goals, minimizing waste.

Train and cross-train store personnel at all levels to ensure operational efficiency.

Provide excellent customer service to shoppers, donors, and staff.

Maintain a clean and orderly store, ensuring good housekeeping in all areas, including restrooms.

Demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between donations and sales production.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Financial Management:

Oversee store budget management, including processing goals, revenue generation, and cost control.

Ensure that all store audits achieve a 90% passing score or greater.

Analyze sales trends and take corrective actions to improve performance.
Loss Prevention:

Maintain a clean and safe stockroom, ensuring adherence to safety procedures.

Observe and report suspicious activities and ensure all loss prevention issues are promptly investigated and addressed.

Oversee the operation of security systems (e.g., door locks, alarms, store safes, fire extinguishers).

Ensure accurate and timely completion of bank deposits, refunds, and incident reports.
Human Resources:

Assist in recruiting, selecting, promoting, disciplining, and separating employees as needed.

Document and report personnel issues for further action.

Assume responsibility for store operations in the absence of the Store Manager.

Manage workforce efficiency through hiring, training, retention, and leadership.

Communicate store reports, personnel changes, and rehabilitation information accurately and promptly.

Ensure that company policies and procedures are followed and that HR resources are properly utilized.

Provide training for new staff and ongoing training for all employees to ensure a high standard of excellence.
Qualifications
Education, Experience, and Requirements:

Education:
-
High school diploma or equivalent.
-
Minimum of one year of supervisory experience with 3-10 team members, preferably in a retail environment.

Knowledgeable in profit and loss, sales, or cost management accountability.

Skills:

Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and math skills.

Proficient in English (both oral and written). Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Computer literate, with proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software.
