JOB PURPOSE: The Senior Physical Therapist provides administrative and physical therapy services. Patient/client services including assessment, treatment, program planning and implementation, related documentation, and communication. Administrative services including assisting the Director of Physical Therapy with program development, talent acquisition, mentoring, education and training of staff. The Senior Physical Therapist has mastered basic technical, manual, and organizational physical therapy skills. There is a focus on outcomes, and care is delivered using a systematic approach. The Senior Physical Therapist must be able to evaluate the patient’s condition and develop an individualized plan tailored to each client based on the physician’s orders. Help clients enhance strength, range of motion, flexibility, mechanical alignment and minimize pain or discomfort to improve function.
The primary goal of the El Rio Health Physical Therapist is to support El Rio’s Mission of providing comprehensive, quality health care that is affordable and accessible to all who may have healthcare needs, by successfully performing the primary essential functions

Essential Job Functions:
• Performs daily physical therapy to patients.
• Assists the Director of Physical Therapy with program development, talent acquisition, education mentoring and site-specific needs Provides administrative services including assisting the Director of Physical Therapy with program development, talent acquisition, mentoring, education and training of staff to meet site specific needs.
• Collaborates and represents the physical therapy team with site specific specialty programs.
• Acts as a resource for physical therapists and supports staff at all sites.
• Tracks and meets productivity of site physical therapists.
• Performs chart reviews/audits for physical therapists at their sites.
• Validates site staff competencies annually.
• Provides a work environment safe and free from hazards; immediately address or inform management of safety issues or potential hazards; adhere to Health and Safety Policies and Procedures; participates in all safety programs, which may include assignment to an emergency response team.
• Responsible for training and education for new site members.
• Leads site team meetings
• Performs administrative tasks including PTO requests for each site.
• Works cooperatively with physicians and care team to develop care and treatment plan that is appropriate especially as it relates to fall risk, interventions, and home safety .
• Performs a skilled evaluation through impairment testing with interpretation of the findings that relate to functional deficits.
• Assesses for muscle strength, mobility, gait, range of motion and pain and select appropriate treatment and assistive devices, instructing patient, family and/or caregivers on use of devices.
• In collaboration with the medical team, evaluates and treats musculoskeletal injuries and syndromes including but not limited to, back pain, neck pain, headaches, orthopedic injuries, osteoarthritis, tendinitis, bursitis, foot pain, hand, elbow, hip, and knee pain.
• Provides manual therapy, exercise therapy, postural training and retaining of musculoskeletal alignment and movement patterns.
• Diagnoses and manages movement dysfunction and enhance physical functional abilities.
• Reports client’s response to treatment or changes in condition to referring provider through written documentation and/or consultation.
• Counsels’ patient and family regarding treatments and modalities and programs.
• Prepares clinical and progress summaries.
• Maintains acceptable standards of patient care within the clinical area.
• Demonstrates and instructs patient/caregiver on body mechanics.
• Treats clients, families, and staff with courtesy and respect.
• Adheres to HIPAA and maintain client confidentiality.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and hygienic work environment in compliance with all Policies and Procedures including but not limited to work areas, workstations, examination rooms, hand washing, infection prevention and control
