SUMMARY: The primary responsibility of this position is to schedule Diagnostic Imaging procedures, greet patients as they present to department, and assist with ancillary responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Greet and register patients.
- Distribute appropriate paperwork to patient based upon the exam scheduled.
- Check patient in using Radiology Information System and acknowledge the exam in Practice Management.
- Schedule all diagnostic imaging exams.
- Reconcile imaging schedule daily in PM system.
- Generate charge tickets and demographic sheets for billing office.
- Perform a check of charge tickets and demographics for non-billable procedures.
- Correlate final mammography report with patient notification letters.
- Obtain outside mammography films from other facilities and log in DI Tracking software.
- Log x-rays from remote sites received from courier.
- Assist with maintaining log on borrowed films and return to originating facility.
- Occasionally make trips to Baptist to pick up or deliver films.
- Fax reports to various facilities or physicians.
- Coordinate release of images to patient or requesting facility and obtain appropriate medical release.
- Monitor “Request to Cancel or Reschedule” list and contact patients as needed.
- Manually confirm all MRI appointments for the following day.
- Keep area clean and organized.
- Perform other tasks as needed

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Good telephone etiquette
- Clinical knowledge preferred
- Computer knowledge
- Basic office skills
- Knowledge of medical records

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Requires regular walking, bending, pushing, pulling and lifting
- Must be able to lift at least 10-15lbs
- Must be able to push patient in wheelchair
- Must be able to manipulate objects—reaching, grasping, handling
- Must exhibit good communication skills—understand, respond and translate into action WORK

- Office environment-limited exposure to communicable diseases.
- No exposure to blood-borne pathogens or contaminated body fluids
