Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital is a fully integrated, state-of-the-art medical campus that includes diagnostic centers, outpatient surgery and a 24-hour emergency department. Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital is part of the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic, a nonprofit, multispecialty, academic medical center that integrates clinical and hospital care with research and education. 

As an RN in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), you have the opportunity to make meaningful differences in the lives of patients and their families every day. In this position, you will use your nursing knowledge to support the Martin Health Hospital system (floating to other locations as needed), serving as a patient advocate, educator and companion. While navigating the unit with a Critical Care mentality is essential, you will also have down time to interact and truly connect with fellow everyone you encounter, all while enhancing your skills and pursing a fulfilling career.  

A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00PM – 7:30AM. 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Provide direct nursing care. 

  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.  

  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.

  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments. 

  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.  

  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs. 

  • Educate patients and their families.   

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing 

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) 

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) 

  • One year of acute care RN experience in a hospital setting OR licensed military RN experience 

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) within one year of hire

  • Teaching and educating experience 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements:

  • Full range of body motion for handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination
  • Standing and walking for extended periods of time
  • Corrected vision and hearing to normal range
  • Working under stressful conditions and irregular hours
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids
  • Medium Work, exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • Physical Demand requirements in excess of those for Light Work

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required
