Senior Finance Manager - West and Central Africa

As Senior Finance Manager (WCA Cluster), you will be responsible for the completeness, accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting for our operations across the WCA market. By ensuring quick and accurate delivery of information to the Board of Directors, regulators, tax authorities, and other stakeholders, you will demonstrate that we uphold the highest professional standards in everything we do.

Your main duties will include:

• Preparing financial statements for monthly board reporting
• Ensuring all balance sheet reconciliations are completed with supporting documentation
• Responding to queries from the Board of Directors or stakeholders on financial statements
• Maintaining sufficient documentation for all company transactions
• Preparing annual financial statements for year-end audit (OHADA)
• Acting as the primary liaison with external auditors, ensuring prompt sign-off of financials
• Monitoring financial processes and controls, advising on improvements when required
• Reporting control deficiencies or recommendations to the Board
• Preparing and filing tax returns
• Advising on tax legislation and monitoring regulatory changes
• Executing approved payments
• Preparing monthly payroll filings
• Acting as a proud brand ambassador for pawaPay
  
  

You are a perfect fit if you have:

• Professional accountancy qualification with at least 5 years’ post-qualification experience
  
• Experience preparing and presenting financial statements to financial and non-financial stakeholders
• Experience working with external auditors
• Strong IT literacy, particularly with spreadsheets
• Comfort with technology and remote work
• Knowledge of Xero and Google Sheets (preferred)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Keen attention to detail
• Ability to demonstrate alignment with pawaPay’s core values
• Confidence in building relationships at all organizational level
• Fluency in English and French (written and spoken) is essential.
