About the role

SUMMARY 

Assists in all aspects of preventive maintenance operations to meet the objectives of the Maintenance Department by performing the following duties.  May be assigned individual tasks according to requirements of the task.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

Inspect and test machinery and equipment as required to ensure proper function.

 

Perform Preventive and Predictive Maintenance on machines or equipment to prevent malfunction and reduce machine down time.   Assist other maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machines.

 

Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.

 

Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.

 

Replaces and repairs mechanical apparatus, such as belts, hoses, and clean washer nuzzles and other components of machinery and equipment.

 

Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.

 

Assists with operating machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools.

 

Operates cuttings torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.

 

Repairs or replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.

 

Logs time and materials allocations to ensure accurate records.

 

Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.

 

Responsible for adherence to the policies, procedures and instructions of the ISO 14001 systems.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

High School Diploma, or equivalent, and/or up to 1 years technical experience in industrial maintenance position in a manufacturing environment.

 

Able to follow both written and verbal instruction.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.  the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.  The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; and extreme heat.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
