Job Description
30%: Generate and distribute executive-level financial reports tailored for Division Chiefs, Department Chairs, Program Directors, the Dean’s Office, and senior leadership, synthesizing departmental data into actionable insights. Working closely with the Business Managers, the role will focus on cross-departmental analysis, strategic forecasting, and executive reporting, rather than day-to-day budget management. It serves as a bridge between departmental operations and institutional financial strategy.
20%: Manages all legal contracts for the College of Dental Medicine. Oversee the submission, review, and tracking of contracts through the approval process, including coordination with legal counsel. Identifies and renews expiring contracts and retires obsolete ones. Ensures all submissions are complete, timely, signed and compliant
15%: OurDay Finance and Security Management: Represents the College in OurDay committees and initiatives. Maintains an expert level of understanding of the OurDay financial system, security, FDM, and reporting. In conjunction with the Assistant Dean of Finance and Administration and Senior Director of Finance and Administration, oversees the review and submission of all security requests for College of Dental Medicine employees. Advises College of Dental Medicine leaders on issues related to OurDay changes and their impact on college finances and MUSCP finances.
10%: Leads the annual analysis of staff and faculty retention rates and oversees college-wide reporting requirements. Ensures data-informed initiatives are supported through accurate, consistent, and timely reporting throughout the year.
10%: Annual Faculty Compensation Change Processing: Oversee the process to approve personnel budgets and implement faculty compensation changes at the beginning of each fiscal year. At the direction of the Assistant Dean of Finance and Administration and Senior Director of Finance and Administration, approves faculty compensation provided by departments. Works to resolve issues with department leadership and the Dean related to compensation. Ensure accurate salaries are provided to the appropriate entities at the beginning of each year to ensure accurate processing of payroll changes.
10%: Prepares and submits a monthly Personnel Report to the Dean, detailing salary changes, discrepancies, and adjustments for all staff and faculty positions across the college.
5%: Other duties as assigned
Additional Job Description
Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree with accounting courses and five years professional experience in a related area such as accounting, auditing, banking or finance.
