Business Manager - NHN - Decatur, IL

Position Summary:  Business Manager for NHN is responsible for driving growth and defending the base business with main focus on Vitamin E, and Sterols, and Isoflavones with some support for Fibersol. This position will primarily be focused on the NA NHN market with some support for business globally.

Responsible for executing daily business needs to reach P&L and growth targets.  Cross functional lead for the NA businesses to reach overall performance targets across the product lines. Collaboration is key as they work to promote positive initiatives that include commercial, sales, supply chain, operations, customer support, CD&D and R&D.
Strategy

  • Successfully expand the global fibers and specialties product portfolio in NA
  • Development of product line strategy working closely with global management
  • Coordinate and develop strategic, financial, short and long-term plans in NA
  • Establish goals and objectives and guide the business during stable or changing market conditions and collaborate in order to reach those goals
Returns
  • Drive profitability optimization of product line by partnering with sales and marketing areas to ensure revenue and profits are maximized for branded products
  • Identify and understand key drivers for markets which your product line serves, using this information to maximize revenue and profits
  • Financial analysis of the business
Market
  • Develop intimate understanding of competitive market dynamics at supplier, customer and consumer level
  • Develop and maintain competitive analysis materials comparing product line with its key competitors from raw material, production, cost and quality perspective
  • Maintain communications and contacts to collect and analyze technical, financial and sales information for product line
  • Understand the global supply and demand for the product line in order to make sound decisions.
  • Identify and understand key drivers for markets in which the product line serves
  • Secure and communicate market information/intelligence to help understand the global marketplace of the product lines
  • Analyze market information and report trends.
  • Identify new opportunities through new product ideas and market expansion
  • Execute special projects that develop as the market changes and expands
Team
  • Coordinate product value propositions development with marketing and analysis to support positioning
  • Drive development of new products, supply chain strategy and collaborative efforts in and outside of ADM
  • Work with specialists to develop intellectual property strategy for NHN that maximizes product life cycle
  • Work with legal and regulatory to identify and prioritize global regulatory approvals to expand geographic reach
  • Drive sales through successful collaboration with ADM sales force, operations, technical services as well as R & D
  • Effectively utilize ADM Research and Technical Services to support our customer’s current and future needs
  • Collaborate with various colleagues including plant management and operations in daily decision making
  • Drive innovation projects related to the product line (R&D)
  • Support global sales force by providing product information and addressing specific customer needs.

  • Increase brand equity by building consumer and customer awareness
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong Leadership and project management skills
  • 5 or more years of business experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communications
  • A basic understanding of the ingredient business and/or the willingness to learn the scientific aspects of the products. 
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office. 
  • A strong work ethic
  • Travel about 20%
